End User Terms of Service

Welcome to QDrop! These Terms of Service ("Terms" or "Agreement") form a legal agreement between you ("Parent", "User", or "you") and QDrop ("QDrop", "we", "us", or "our"). They govern your personal access to and use of QDrop’s websites, mobile applications, and messaging integrations (including WhatsApp) (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account, tapping "I Agree", logging into the Service, or replying "YES" to an interactive QDrop message on WhatsApp, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. YOUR ACCOUNT & ELIGIBILITY

  • 1.1 Purpose of the Service. QDrop is an administrative communication platform provided to help parents, legal guardians, and family members stay informed about school announcements, policies, schedules, and operations.
  • 1.2 Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) to set up a Parent account.
  • 1.3 Account Security. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Do not share your password, magic link, or verification codes with anyone else. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

2. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & YOUR LICENSE

  • 2.1 Limited Access License. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, QDrop grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service strictly for personal, non-commercial school communication purposes.
  • 2.2 Ownership. QDrop and its licensors retain all right, title, and interest in and to the platform, underlying code, visual design, and branding. You do not own the software or institutional documents provided by your child's school.
  • 2.3  Your Messages. You retain ownership of information you submit to Qdrop. You grant Qdrop permission to process your messages as necessary to provide, maintain and secure the Service and respond to your questions, in accordance with our Privacy Policy. 

3. AI-POWERED ASSISTANCE & IMPORTANT DISCLAIMERS

QDrop uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help answer your questions based on documents and announcements provided by your school. When using our AI features, please keep the following in mind:

  • 3.1 Informational Purpose Only: AI responses are generated automatically to summarize school policies, schedules, and materials. AI outputs do not constitute legal, medical, financial, or formal educational advice.
  • 3.2 Emergency Exclusions: DO NOT USE QDROP FOR EMERGENCIES. If you or your child are experiencing a medical emergency, security threat, or urgent mental health crisis, call emergency services (e.g., 991, 999, 911) or contact your school administration directly by phone immediately.
  • 3.3 Verification: While we strive for high accuracy, AI models can occasionally misinterpret documents or generate incomplete information. Always verify critical dates, permission deadlines, or medical policies with official school staff.
  • 3.4 School Information. Qdrop provides access to general information supplied or approved by your school. Qdrop does not independently verify or determine school policies, procedures, schedules or requirements. If information provided by Qdrop conflicts with an official communication from your school, the school's official and most current information prevails. 

4. ACCEPTABLE USE RULES

You agree to use QDrop responsibly and respectfully. You agree NOT to:

  • Misuse AI Assistants: Submit malicious queries ("jailbreaks" or prompt injections) intended to confuse, manipulate, or extract system instructions or private data from the AI engine.
  • Harass or Abuse: Send hateful, threatening, obscene, sexually explicit, or harassing messages to school administrators, teachers, or QDrop personnel.
  • Tamper with Platform Security: Reverse engineer, scrape, probe, or attempt to compromise the security or infrastructure of the Service.
  • Impersonate Others: Pretend to be another parent, a teacher, a school official, or an unauthorized individual.
  • Transmit Spam or Malware: Upload viruses, malicious files, or unsolicited promotional messages.

5. MESSAGING PLATFORMS & THIRD-PARTY SERVICES (WHATSAPP)

  • 5.1 Third-Party Integration: If you choose to interact with QDrop via third-party channels such as WhatsApp, your usage of those channels is also subject to the terms and privacy policies of the third-party provider (e.g., Meta/WhatsApp).
  • 5.2 Opting Out of WhatsApp: QDrop will never send you unsolicited messages. You will only get answers to the questions you ask. Should you wish to opt out as a QDrop user, you can cancel your account at any time in the account settings.

6. PRIVACY & DATA HANDLING

6.1   Data Privacy: Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy , which is incorporated into these Terms.

  • We never sell your personal information.
  • We never use your family's communications or school queries to serve targeted advertisements.
  • We never train public or third-party AI models on your private messages or your school's documents.

6.2  No Student-Specific Information: Qdrop is designed to provide general school information and does not provide information about individual students. You should not submit questions or information concerning an individual student's grades, attendance, behaviour, health, learning needs, disciplinary matters, safeguarding, or other personal circumstances through Qdrop. Questions about an individual student should be directed to the school through its normal communication channels. 

7. TERMINATION & ACCOUNT DELETION

  • 7.1 Termination by You: You can stop using the Service at any time. To request account deletion, contact us at hello@qdrop.com or through your app settings.
  • 7.2 Termination by QDrop: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or engage in behaviour that threatens the security or safety of the platform or school community.

8. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES & LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

  • 8.1 Warranty Disclaimer: TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR ABSOLUTELY ACCURATE AT ALL TIMES.
  • 8.2 Limitation of Liability: TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, QDROP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR SPECIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED $1000 USD (OR LOCAL CURRENCY EQUIVALENT).

9. GOVERNING LAW & CHANGES

  • 9.1 Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which you reside (e.g., England and Wales for UK residents, or your province of residence for Canadian residents), without giving effect to conflict of law principles.
  • 9.2 Changes to Terms: We may update these Terms periodically. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app, via WhatsApp, or on our website prior to the updates taking effect. Continued use of QDrop after changes take effect constitutes your agreement to the new Terms.
